Clear answers about Lightr, how it uses AI, publishing and approval, your privacy, and plans.

Lightr basics

What is Lightr?

Lightr is an AI marketing agent for founders and small businesses. Lightr turns your website or a description of your business into a brand strategy, campaigns, social posts, and visuals, and publishes what you approve.

Who is Lightr for?

Lightr is built for founders, solo operators, small businesses, and small marketing teams: anyone who needs the output of a marketing team without having one. No marketing background is required: Lightr does the strategy work and you make the calls.

Do I need a website to use Lightr?

No. The free preview on lightr.ai needs a URL to analyze, but inside the app you can simply describe your business in your own words. Lightr still maps your positioning, plans your campaigns, and finds your competitive edge.

What does the free preview on lightr.ai do?

Lightr's free preview reads the website you give it and builds a first strategy snapshot in under a minute: your positioning, market read, brand voice, content pillars, competitive edge, and a starter campaign idea. Nothing is lost when you sign up: your brand guide, strategy report, and first campaign carry into the app, so you continue exactly where the preview left off.

How Lightr uses AI

How does Lightr use AI?

Lightr uses AI as a team of specialized agents rather than a single chatbot. One agent researches your market, audience, and competitors; others turn that research into a brand strategy, plan campaigns, write posts, generate images, and grade the results. Every output arrives as a draft you can review, edit, or reject.

Which AI models does Lightr use?

Lightr runs on frontier models from Google, Anthropic, and OpenAI, accessed through their business APIs. Lightr selects the right model for each task (research, reasoning, writing, image generation, scoring) and updates that mix as models improve. You never need your own API keys or a separate AI subscription.

Will the content actually sound like my brand?

Yes. Lightr writes from your Brand Strategy (your market, audience, competitors, positioning, and voice) instead of from a blank prompt, and you can rewrite or regenerate any piece. Every draft is also scored on voice, so anything drifting off-brand is flagged before it can go live.

How does Lightr check quality before content goes live?

Lightr grades every piece before it can be published: copy on clarity, hook, audience fit, originality, and on-brand voice; images on composition, impact, and brand fit. You see exactly where each draft stands and refine it until it's right.

Publishing and approval

Does Lightr publish anything without my approval?

No. Nothing is published unless you approve it. Every post is created as a draft, scored, and held until you explicitly approve it. Only then does Lightr schedule it, publish it, and learn from how it performs.

Which social networks can Lightr publish to?

Lightr schedules and publishes approved posts to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X, the first four supported networks, with more formats and networks on the way. You connect each account yourself, and disconnecting one stops Lightr from posting there.

Can I edit or reject a post before it goes out?

Yes. Every draft can be edited, rewritten, regenerated, rescheduled, or deleted before publication. Approval is a deliberate step, not a default: a draft you never approve stays a draft.

Your data and privacy

Is anything I enter in Lightr shared with anyone else?

No. What you put into your workspace (your strategy, campaigns, posts, and the material you provide) is yours and is not shared with other Lightr users. Lightr does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.

Is my content used to train AI models?

No. Your content is processed only to produce your own strategy, campaigns, and posts, and is never used for advertising, profiling, or AI model training. The model providers Lightr uses act as sub-processors, contractually bound to process your data only on Lightr's instructions.

Where is my data stored, and how long is it kept?

Lightr stores your data on EU and US cloud infrastructure. Account data and connected-platform metadata are kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymized within 30 days of account termination; message content is kept for a maximum of 7 days. The Privacy Policy lists every sub-processor and retention window.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can delete your data from the app, disconnect any connected platform to purge its metadata, or email privacy@lightr.ai to request access, correction, a portable copy, or deletion. Lightr honors GDPR and CCPA/CPRA rights wherever you live.

Plans, credits, and teams

Is Lightr free to try?

Yes. The Free plan includes 5 free daily credits, one brand workspace, and 1 GB of storage. Paid plans add monthly credits, more workspaces, and more storage.

How do credits work?

Credits are what Lightr spends to create strategy, content, and visuals for you. Every plan includes 5 free daily credits; Pro adds 50 monthly credits and Business adds 150, and both can top up with credit packs.

Can my team use Lightr?

Yes. Pro and Business include unlimited seats, and Business adds up to three brand workspaces; the Free plan is for solo use. For agencies and larger teams, Enterprise offers custom workspaces and credits.
